It‘s a family affair that started long ago when Alma Eskandary was young, she would sing, play piano and entertain her family and close friends. Later on, she started writing songs and recording them. Birth of her daughter, Karina, inspired Alma to start writing children’s stories.
“Karina Es” followed in her mother’s creative footsteps. Karina‘s solo career was initially managed by Peter Linseman of Music Mentor Productions and then in 2011, she signed a management and production deal with Kuya Productions (Alessia Cara, Christina Aguilera, Kreesha Turner, JRDN ) and crafted her single “Little Mercy” which became the Bell media’s chosen emerging artist of the month (March 2012) and cracked the Top 50 chart. Karina’s next single “Dancing in the Stars” was picked up by ABC’s hit TV show “Dancing with the Stars” in various seasons with multiple uses for both finale dance and general theme music. Karina took a hiatus from the music industry to give birth to her first child, Michael.
Birth of Alma’s first grandchild, Michael, in October 2017, renewed her creativity and imagination yet again. Her grandson became her inspiration for writing songs and stories for young children. Her passion for visual arts gave her the direction to combine her talents and make music animations for young children. She even derived the name of her production company “AmaaTV”, based on the name that her grandson calls her, “Amaa”.
Today the music team is back together recording Alma‘s original children‘s songs with Peter Linseman producing and Karina Es singing lead vocals.
The Animation team comprises of the best international talents. Matt Wilson, the team leader from New Zealand, who has worked as an animator on both Warner Brothers and Disney TV series and Dodot Asmoro, the talented 3D animator who has won many design competitions as an illustrator and animator in Jakarta.
